DONATE TO ESDC

Dear Friends,

As the year draws to close, I wanted to share with you some of the successes
we have had as an organization and to ask for your help in keeping our doors
open.

Imagine if ESDC was not in the neighborhood for over the past 30 years to
help residents and business owners. At a time when most people had given
up on the neighborhood, ESDC stepped in to help bring about positive
change and continues that tradition to this day.  Some of the things we have
done this year to continue to improve the community, such as the Buen
Provecho! Pilsen restaurant tour which sold out with over 500 people in
attendance and the first Mole de Mayo which boasted attendance of over
1,000 people at the outdoor festival, have proven that our organization
remains committed to the neighborhood it serves. These two events drew
people from all over the Chicago area to bring commerce to Pilsen while just
last weekend ESDC helped organize Las Posadas, a traditional Mexican
holiday event designed to bring tourists to Pilsen as well.

Think about what residents and businesses would do without ESDC’s free
community workshops. Homeowners are saving money and improving their
properties with the historic preservation tax assessment freeze. They are
learning about missed exemptions and how to appeal their property tax
assessment with workshops hosted by ESDC. Residents with landlord and
tenant issues come to ESDC for assistance and mediation. Meanwhile,
hundreds of local businesses every year depend on our consulting services
to help them grow and thrive.  These events and services are invaluable to
the Pilsen community and without them Pilsen would not be as strong a
neighborhood as it is today.

To continue to provide these services, however, we need your help. To that
end, we have attached a link to our PayPal service so that you may quickly
and easily help us with whatever support you can.  Any amount helps us keep
our doors open and our services available.
Please know that your
donation makes a tangible difference in our community and is very
much appreciated.

Saludos,

David Betlejewski
Executive Director
